A pop-up choir is a group of singers who come together over a short period to sing together. Unity Choir are inviting singers of all abilities to join our Pop-Up Choir by attending our workshop day on Sunday 17th November and then joining forces with us to perform retro classics at our end of project gig on Sunday 24th November.

All adults are welcome, you don't need any previous experience and all abilities are welcome from complete beginners. The songs are easy to pick up and great fun to sing, we will help build your confidence so that you can join us on stage.

The Pop-Up will join Unity choir in singing retro classics made famous by the likes of Abba, a host of Motown Legends & 80s pop superstars. When you enquire about a place we can give you a link to listen to the songs we are learning.

Singers often tell us they'd love to be in a choir but aren't able to rehearse weekly. We're setting up this Pop-Up Choir for you to get all the benefits of being in a choir and the buzz of performing at a gig but with just two days of commitment. Singers from other choirs are also welcome to join us as a one-off to sing pop favourites from the 60s, 70s & 80s.

Singers who join our Pop-Up Choir are invited to a one day rehearsal on Sunday 17th November 10am - 4pm, followed by an afternoon rehearsal 1 - 4pm and evening performance 6 - 9pm as part of our Pop Decades Gig on Sunday 24th November. There is an optional additional rehearsal at The Hetton Centre on Tuesday 19th November 7 - 9.15pm for anyone who wishes to attend. Singers can still take part even if they can only attend part of the rehearsals. Singers are also welcome to choose to attend the workshop day but not perform at the gig. Singers are still welcome to attend all or part of our Pop-Up Choir Workshop Day on Sunday 17th November even if they don't wish to perform. Your ticket will still cover your attendance as an audience member and you can join in with the songs you've learned from the safety of the audience if you prefer.

It costs £15 to join our Pop-Up Choir  - The fee includes access to online learning resources, the workshop and performance day (including 6+ hours of tuition) and your ticket to the Pop Decades Gig.

There is an optional hot buffet for which singers & audience members can choose to purchase an additional food ticket at £7.50 per person. Pop-Up Choir members can also purchase reduced price tickets for their friends & family once they've booked their place.
